Keeping the cost in mind, we decided to look at five easy DIY pallet patio furniture pieces to enjoy with family and friends. Let’s have a brief look sourcing pallets and what cost you should be considering. We’ll touch briefly on some basic tools needed.

The first step in creating your pallet patio furniture is sourcing. Sourcing local pallets or skids should be fairly simple. Have a look on your local Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist or your local advertising platforms. Most of the time you’ll be able to find these pallets for free, just do a search for free pallets or skids.

If you’re not able to find it locally, we suggest that you do a proximity search. Pick an area that you’re comfortable driving to, pending costs. If you can’t find anything within reasonable distance, you may be able to pick up pallets for about $5 to $10, depending on their condition. We recommend not going over $5 per pallet.

Tools wise, you most likely need a jigsaw or even a manual saw, wood screws or nails, hammer and sand paper and paint or wood stain. You can get more fancy and get casters for your coffee tables or pallet couch, should you wish to move this around. These are basic tools that most people should have around. If you don’t, just borrow them for a day from one of your DIY friends. We’ll discuss that below for more details.

A patio is not complete without a patio sectional. We argued that that’s the first thing you’ll need to start furnishing your patio. A good pallet patio sectional will add plenty of space to seat on and enjoy with friends and family.

You’ll need about 6-8 pallets to start this. Start by looking at the height desired. Usually, you’ll need two pallets. Measure and see what works best for you. Measure the right able for your back support. After you’re done measuring, get your tools out. Start cutting. Put all pallet pieces together and start screwing. You can sand the wood if you like. Paint to your liking. Add a weather proof sealant if you plan on leaving this outside.

Pallet Coffee Table

A patio set is not complete without a coffee table. There are plenty of pallet coffee tables plans around. Luckily you don’t need these. A coffee table made from pallets is simple. Simple coffee tables are unique, take no time and are low cost. You have a choice of going all out by sanding, panting, etc or leave it natural.

You’ll need a few pallets. Cut to your desired height. Put them together by screws. That’s all! Here’s an example of a pallet coffee table. If you’re adventurous, you can go ahead and make a few pallet end tables too!

Pallet Picnic Table

Having a pallet picnic table will add some character to your patio. Great for kids or for larger family gatherings, these pallet picnic tables will sure come in handy. Depending on the size desired, you can make one out of 4-6 pallets. An easy example that will fit any patio decor can be found below.

Pallet BBQ Station

A pallet BBQ station is a must for any patio. Plenty of choices here. You can go as fancy as you like or simple as the example below. You’ll need about 2 pallets to make a cool, cooking station that will impress your guests. Use existing pallets, cut a few sections off. To add a flat section, use a few laminate flooring planks if you have laying around. Bam, you’re done and ready for that burger and cold beer.
